The Glen

The Glen Bed and Breakfast is situated 6 miles north of Carlisle in the Lake District, Cumbria, along a Roman Road that leads to Scotland which is now the A7 and is the tourist route to Edinburgh. also known as the Reviers Route. Most traffic now uses the M6 for going North which is five minutes drive away. The Glen is set in two acres and is an ideal base for tours to the Lakes and Border regions of Scotland.

It was built in 1830 and was once in Scotland, being north of Hadrians wall. The Glen is a single story long house cottage, typical of the many dotted around Scotland. The walls are over 20 inches thick and built up of a mixture of red sandstone and large granite pebbles. The Glen bed and breakfast is run by Nigel and Karen who aim to make your stay as plesant as possible. Breakfast is served between 7am - 10am. There is a wide selection of home produced and local fresh foods to cater for all tastes, along with our freerange eggs, you won't find a better breakfast to start the day.
